Into The Wild

1. Initially I thought that this book is really well written. I can tell that the author is really passionate about following this young man's adventure. I'm still trying to decide weather or not I sympathise with Alex or not. He seems like such a likable guy but he is a bit naive. The authors writ ting style seems a bit journalistic, but the fact that he Incorporated his own experiences makes it a emotional story.

2. Chris is someone who wants to be liberated from his restring ties of money and obligations. He however is a bit naive when it comes to what it actually takes to live out in the wild. He only came into the woods with a bag of rice and a small amount of supplies, and the wrong kind of hunting gun. He thought he was invincible when really he was just ill prepared.

3. I think the author is trying to say that we all feel the need to escape. We need to have individuality and our own thoughts or else we are going to be trapped in our robotic body. We need to break free of the social conformity and be ourselves.

4. This book reminds me of Hatchet kind of. Although Alex did choose to be in the wild, he still has a difficulty with the wilderness. He is only a boy and still is unsure of the world around him.

5. I identify with Alex and the story because sometimes I ask myself, why am I doing what I'm doing? Do I really want to be tediously calculating random math equations or nannying for three kids everyday after school? Or am i just programed to do that because I thought that, that was just what you had to do. All I am doing is going through the motions and waisting my life with something that I am not completely passionate about.

6. The world has the same issues as Alex and I have. They feel the need to conform and be what the world expects them to be. They hardly choose what they want in life.

Book Reviews

While reading One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest the reader finds themselves emerged into a world filled with the most creative kind of fear and lunacy. The lives of all the patients living in the insane asylum seemed nothing more than a routine that never ceased to stop. The ring leader being the fearful miss Rratchet treated to the patients as if they were robots dulling out mind numbing drugs whenever she saw fit. Luckily for the patients a newcomer made an entrance, this man was questionably not insane and was in no way shape or form a robot. A beautiful revolution has started and the patients and readers need to enjoy the ride. This heart fully hilarious books reminds us that we need to see ourselves as unique and beautiful and to not let our quirks conform at any cost. “[H]e knew you can’t really be strong until you can see a funny side to things” (p. 227).

Naked is a witty autobiography written by David Sadaris. He recalls the strange events of his child hood OCD or how his mother would make fun of him with his teacher all the way up to when he hitch hiked across the country with the idea that he could become a tortured scholar. Each chapter begining with a new delema or random story and ending in a philosopy of his life, in a round about way. He sees life for what it is. no more or no less. He claims 'If you're looking for sympathy you'll find it between shit and syphilis in the dictionary.' Is just another example on how he doesn't glorify what he is, or how he is treated. By the end of the book you'll see his life is changed and yours will be too.

In the future,

In the future, I hope that our economy has finally been straightened out. I hope that there are enough jobs available, that when i graduate college I will be able to chose any profession that Iwant at that time. I also want there to be peace in America, amount the citizens and other country's. I want the Americans to know that we are capable of working together and learning from out past.

When I am fourty, I hope my kids grow up in an enviorment that makes them feel safe. I hope that crime rates have gone down and poverty has gone down and there are no more wars. I want them to know that people in this world are essentially good and that if they try hard they can make a difference. By that time, i also want the economy to do better so that i can afford a good life for my children.

Meeting with the president

If i had the opportunity to sit down with the 44Th president, Barack Obama, i would ask him what he was planning to do about the economy. I would ask him about the measures we as Americans need to take in order to help our economy thrive. I would wonder what he could do in order to make more jobs for the American people and to make education more readily available. I would also inquire about the war in Iraq and Iran. I would ask him what are the next steps in this war and what he planned to do in the future, if a terrorist attack was made.
